18, 2007 Minutes of the Parish Council Meeting
1. The meeting was called
to order at 7:05 p.m. Father Nagle said
the opening prayer.
Members present were
Father Nagle, Diane & Paul Robillard, George & Janet Bucko, Ed Farr,
Bill Herrmann, Susan Hollo, Gregory Kolashuk, Jack Legato, Henry Talbot, Mark
Trotochaud, Fred & Diane DeWick.
Members absent: none Guests
present: Ed LaFrancois and Dick Asafaylo
2. The minutes of the
July meeting had been reviewed and discussion took
place about holding a social at a meeting or after a meeting. Votes took place whether to keep or delete
the minutes. It was
voted to keep the minutes.
1. Emergency
Preparedness – Mark Trotochaud - The Emergency Action Plan safety sign was revised. Mark
needs names for contact for certain situations &
problems. Possible names on the sign
would be Greg or Ed Farr, the Parish Council Chair, and Ed Lafrancois (Grand
Knight of K of C). Mark
would like to create a binder with red and white lettering and photo's of circuit
breakers and other systems i.e. generator, warranties, serial numbers. Fred & Mark will look into 1st aid kits that will be metal and mount on the
wall.
2. Driveway
Safety-Entrance posts – Paul Robillard will be getting entrance posts with
reflective tape to identify the driveways.
The posts are 5" X 5" thick, 31/2' to 4' high with caps. There will be a 6" silver reflective
tape on each post. The cost will be
about $100 per post. There will be
posthole digging Saturday morning.
3. Evangelization/Adult
Education Programs - Bill Herrmann said the Ladies Guild has speakers planned
for November, May and June. He will talk
with Marie Trawczynski for the Narthex re-organization.

1. Finance Committee Report - Father Nagle, Ed
Farr - Ed handed out Our Lady of the Lakes Weekly/Monthly Income Sheets to show
for budgeting purposes. Dick Asafaylo
had handouts showing the Fiscal 06/07 results. Plans are to re-convene the
Planning & Development Committee to prioritize the needs of the parish.
2. Pastor’s Report – Father Nagle
commended the Grounds Committee for their work on the grounds around the
church.
Father said this
month's collection is down 10%.
Discussion took place on ways to let parishioners know what's going on.
Possibly go to the Parish and remind them about stewardship or possibly
making a pledge. We need to present a
plan and outline where we are going, what the needs of the Parish is. The Council questions how to reduce expenditures,
possibly by 5%. Father will get a
planning committee together.
3. Planning & Development – Fred DeWick said
there is nothing new. Diane R. asked
about cleaning the steeple.
4. Sinners Dinners - Diane Robillard - Would
like to have a potluck intro to see who is interested.
5. Open Discussion - Parish Council Members -
Ideas about going through the State Senator or State Representative to look
into lights out on the front poles regarding the safety issue.

The next Parish Council
Meeting will be on Tuesday, October 23.
There will be no
monthly meeting held in November and December. There will be a meeting on
January 22, 2008
