Old Business

1. Emergency Preparedness – Mark Trotochaud - The Emergency Action Plan safety sign was revised.  Mark needs names for contact for certain situations & problems.  Possible names on the sign would be Greg or Ed Farr, the Parish Council Chair, and Ed Lafrancois (Grand Knight of K of C).  Mark would like to create a binder with red and white lettering and photo's of circuit breakers and other systems i.e. generator, warranties, serial numbers.  Fred & Mark will look into 1st aid kits that will be metal and mount on the wall.

2. Driveway Safety-Entrance posts – Paul Robillard will be getting entrance posts with reflective tape to identify the driveways.  The posts are 5" X 5" thick, 31/2' to 4' high with caps.  There will be a 6" silver reflective tape on each post.  The cost will be about $100 per post.  There will be posthole digging Saturday morning.

3. Evangelization/Adult Education Programs - Bill Herrmann said the Ladies Guild has speakers planned for November, May and June.  He will talk with Marie Trawczynski for the Narthex re-organization.

4. Bell Tower Chimes – Janet Bucko said they had a speaker at the Ladies Guild meeting who talked about the Chimes.  The cost is $9100.  She will check on a possible installment plan.  Discussion took place regarding funding the chimes, selling memory or meditation bricks, with the cost of each brick about $75 or $100.  The Ladies Guild can contribute $2000.  A concern raised is the maintenance of the chime unit.  Out of consideration we should let neighbors within a 1-mile radius know about the chimes, perhaps invite them to the church for the initial christening.

New Business

1.  Finance Committee Report - Father Nagle, Ed Farr - Ed handed out Our Lady of the Lakes Weekly/Monthly Income Sheets to show for budgeting purposes.  Dick Asafaylo had handouts showing the Fiscal 06/07 results. Plans are to re-convene the Planning & Development Committee to prioritize the needs of the parish.

2.        Pastor’s Report – Father Nagle commended the Grounds Committee for their work on the grounds around the church.

Father said this month's collection is down 10%.  Discussion took place on ways to let parishioners know what's going on.  Possibly go to the Parish and remind them about stewardship or possibly making a pledge.  We need to present a plan and outline where we are going, what the needs of the Parish is.  The Council questions how to reduce expenditures, possibly by 5%.  Father will get a planning committee together.

3.  Planning & Development – Fred DeWick said there is nothing new.  Diane R. asked about cleaning the steeple.

4.  Sinners Dinners - Diane Robillard - Would like to have a potluck intro to see who is interested.

5.  Open Discussion - Parish Council Members - Ideas about going through the State Senator or State Representative to look into lights out on the front poles regarding the safety issue.

Closing Prayer – Father Nagle - The meeting was adjourned at 8:50 p.m.

The next Parish Council Meeting will be on Tuesday, October 23.

There will be no monthly meeting held in November and December. There will be a meeting on January 22, 2008
