Altar Server Adult - Men and Women

Like the younger altar servers, the adult server assists Father Nagle in the offering of the Holy Mass, but the focus is on weekdays when the young servers are not available. Adults may also assist at special liturgies and ceremonies. Men and women are welcome to participate in the Adult Altar Server Ministry.

Altar Server Children - Boys and Girls

Altar servers assist Father Nagle in the offering of the Holy Mass and during other religious services. To assist the priest during the Mass or at a special liturgy or ceremony is a very meaningful Ministry which enriches the faith life for boys and girls.

Cantor

Any member of the Parish (confirmed adult) with vocal talent is encouraged to sing as a Cantor, a singer of the Psalms and a leader of sung prayer, for our Liturgies. Training Sessions in this Ministry are announced in our Parish Bulletin. Please speak with our Music Director, Mrs. Patricia Johnson, for additional information.

Children's Choir

Children Grades Pre-K through seven are invited to join the Children’s Choir. Please contact the Music Director for information. The rehearsal schedule appears in our Parish Bulletin and is sent by e-mail to members by the Music Director.

Choir

The Choir, under the direction of Mrs. Patricia Johnson, lifts up their voices in song for special feasts and holidays that are celebrated throughout the year. The Choir consists of young and adult parishioners. Parishioners who play a musical instrument are urged to share your talent. All are welcome to participate in the Choir! During the Liturgical Seasons the Choir Rehearsal Schedule appears in our Parish Bulletin and sent by e-mail to members by the Music Director. Communion Visits

Please telephone Mr. William Herrmann, Coordinator of our Parish Homebound Visits Ministry, to arrange for a vist to be made to an ill or homebound parishioner with Holy Communion. The visit will be made by a Eucharistic Minister. Visits may be scheduled for the First Friday of the month or Sunday following the morning Masses. Visits may also be arranged on an individual basis. If the Sacrament of the Sick is requested, Father Nagle will make the visit.

Couple to Couple Program

The Couple to Couple Marriage Preparation Program assists engaged couples in preparing for the Sacrament of Matrimony. Engaged couples meet with Parish married couples to learn about relationships and communication in their future life experience.

Eucharistic Adoration Adorer

To be present in prayer before the Blessed Sacrament for an assigned period of time on First Friday of each month. Please refer to the Eucharistic Adoration page for additional information or speak with or telephone Mr. Bob Knoblauch, the Coordinator of Eucharistic Adoration.

Eucharistic Minister

This Ministry is served by dedicated men and women who serve at our Sunday Liturgies and Special Liturgies throughout the year. The Eucharistic Minister may be called upon to visit the homebound and the ill with Holy Communion.

Faith Formation Program Grades one through nine

Gardening Angels

Members gather to plan and plant the grounds around the Church and Rectory. You are invited to participate in making Our Lady of the Lakes Church grounds inviting and beautiful. No experience necessary! We'll have great fun and the help of a Master Gardner who has volunteered her talents, too!

Knights of Columbus, Our Lady of the Lakes Council, Number 8903

Lector's Ministry

Legion of Mary

The Legion of Mary, Our Lady of Mount Carmel Presidium, meets weekly at 8:30a.m., Saturday, in our Parish Hall.. The Legion members supports our Pastor in performing apolostic works in our Parish. You are invited to attend the meetins or speak to Mrs. Mary Devine, Presidium President.

Lending Library

Our Parish Lending Library, located in the Narthex of our Church, contains books, magazines, cd's and periodicals. Also located in the Library are rosary beads, prayer booklets, cards, and leaflets, (these do not have to be returned). Take time to peruse the spiritual and educational offerings in our Lending Library. You will be pleased with the wide selection of material available for adults, youth and children!

Montville Area Communities Together (MACT)

Our Parish has been a member of the Montville Area Communities Together Ecumenical Organization for many years. MACT serves those in need in our area offering a food bank, providing clothing, and vouchers for various needs (non-perishable food items, fuel, etc.). MACT also sponsors the CROP Walk. Members participate in area ecumenical projects, meetings, and prayer services. Contact our parish representative for additional information.

Mustard Seed Playgroup

A playgroup for Parish children under five years of age. The Playgroup meets on Tuesday morning at 9:00a.m. in our Parish Hall. Come one! Come all! Music, games, activities and crafts! For questions, please contact Patty Johnson, our Parish Music Director and our Playgroup Coordinator.

Our Lady's Ladies Guild

The Ladies Guild, was established in 1971and meets monthly. Members share their talents, their desire to serve our Parish Community, and to enhance their personal spiritual life. All ladies of the Parish are cordially invited to attend our meetings.

Parish Council

The Council's primary role is to assist the parish to fulfill its mission. The Council is an advisory Council to our Pastor, Father Nagle. The Council is a relfection and planning group that identifies needs, unearths resources, and discovers ways to develop ministries for utilizing these resources. The Council also coordinates the work of parish committees in order to further the parish's mission. The Monthly Meeting schedule is published in the Parish Bulletin.

Planning and Development Committee

The Planning and Development Committee was formed by Father Nagle to project and outline the needs of future development and renovation of Parish buildings and grounds. The Committee will announce in the Parish Bulletin when meetings are scheduled.

Prayer Line

You are invited to contact the parishioners on our Parish Prayer Line: Janet Bucko (537-2), Ruth Mock (367-0388) or Jean Farr (859-1189) to request prayer for your special intention. They will in turn contact other members to extend your request to pray for God's intercession.

Prayer Shawl Ministry

Come make a shawl of healing for someone who will be comforted by the warmth and prayers that will be in every stitch. All non and experienced knitters and crocheters are welcome. Bring your yarn and needles. Instructions and materials will be available for those not having supplies. We meet on the third Wednesday of each month in our Parish Hall, 6:00-9:00p.m. to share with each other as we participate in this special ministry sponsored by The Ladies Guild. Refreshements will be served.

Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA)

The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) is a process which prepares adults for entry into the Christian Community. Meetings are one evening per week from September through Easter Season, with reception of Baptism, Confirmation and Eucharist celebrated at the Easter Vigil Mass.

The Folk Group

Serving our Parish since 1972, the Folk Group provides the Music Ministry for the Saturday 5:00p.m. Vigil Mass as well as special liturgies and services throughout the year. The Folk Group consists of both young and adult parishioners. Join us in praising God through song by sharing your singing or instrumental talent with your Parish Family! The God Squad - Youth Group

Our Parish Youth Group - The God Squad, gathers to enrich their lives through activities, trips, outings, and community service events. An exciting and interesting year of activities and functions is planned - become a member of The God Squad and bring a friend! All youth, grades 6-12 are invited. The Magnificat Singers!

The Usher Society
